Classes, Courses and Workshops

We’ve made some big changes to our programme of classes and courses since April 2012. It’s part of a wider strategy to ensure that Yorkshire Dance thrives despite the challenges of the current financial climate.

We’ve handed over control of most of our classes and courses to our brilliant tutors. To take part in the new Tutor-Led Classes programme, you’ll pay your tutors directly, rather than dealing with our box office. Details can be found in the descriptions of the classes, here.

Yorkshire Dance is maintaining its own programme of Contemporary Dance classes, the Saturday Superstars programme for children aged 0-12 and Mind the Step (for adults with learning difficulties).

We’ll still be hosting classes for three terms per year.

What to Wear

Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in, and see the description of your class or course to find out what shoes to wear, or if it’s better to take part in bare feet. Please note that outdoor shoes may not be worn in the studios, so please bring clean, indoor dancing shoes if you’re not going to dance in bare feet.

Keeping Safe

Dance is a naturally strenuous exercise and participants should take responsibility for ensuring that they are fit to take part. If you have any health concerns or are pregnant please seek advice from your doctor before attending. If you have a previous injury or experience any discomfort or pain during your class, please inform your tutor.
