What is it like to be you?
What are the stories of your community?

Working with theatre director, Alan Lyddiard, we will create great theatre based on your stories. Tell a story about yourself, perform an anecdote about your life, or simply share the funny things that have happened to you.

We are working on a theatre project with older artists called Anniversary, and you can help us in the process. Together we can create something special with a bit of music, a bit of a dance and a lot of conversation!

Come and meet like-minded people and share your stories. Sessions will be accessible and fun – absolutely no experience necessary.

The six arts organisations in the LEAF partnership have a wealth of experience of working with older adults, and this Ten Week programme brings one of them right to your neighbourhood. Join in every Friday for ten weeks, and get creative!

If you need help getting here, or would like to discuss your access needs, let us know.

A range of other programmes has been taking place around Leeds since October 2015. At the end of each programme, you and the rest of the participants will be able to decide what you’d like to do next… more dance, more singing, more acting, or something completely different! How about making a radio play??

Big Lottery FundYoung at Arts is a two-year project, part of Time to Shine, a six-year programme delivered by Leeds Older People’s Forum and funded through Big Lottery Fund Ageing Better.

Time To Shine takes a city-wide approach to addressing the social isolation of older people. The LEAF partnership’s Young at Arts will create social opportunities through culture and the arts.
