Join friendly, expert dancers from Yorkshire Dance and try out some gentle movement-play to stimulate mind and body. You don’t have to be a dancer – this is for any body.

Lots of laughs are guaranteed.

“Each session has left me feeling energised, happy, useful, and with a feeling of well-being. The sessions bring you out of yourself and are a great opportunity to connect with other people from the community.”
Young at Arts participant, Rothwell

The six arts organisations in the LEAF partnership have a wealth of experience of working with older adults, and this Young at Arts programme brings them right to your neighbourhood.

If transport is a problem, we can help organise and pay for you to get here. To talk about that or to discuss your access needs, let us know… call Shabina Aslam on 0113 243 9867 or e-mail

A range of other Young at Arts programmes have been taking place in communities across Leeds since October 2015.

At the end of your Young at Arts programme, you and the rest of the participants will be able to decide what you’d like to do next… more movement and dance, or something completely different! We’d love to hear your ideas.

Big Lottery FundYoung at Arts is a two-year project, part of Time to Shine, a six-year programme delivered by Leeds Older People’s Forum and funded through Big Lottery Fund Ageing Better.

Time To Shine takes a city-wide approach to addressing the social isolation of older people. Young at Arts will create social opportunities through culture and the arts.

This programme in Richmond Hill has been supported by Richmond Hill Elderly Action.
