Danielle Byars

Practitioner / facilitator

Danielle gained a first class degree in Performance: Dance at York St John University and went on to study for a Diploma at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance. She is currently studying towards the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (DDTAL) for Children and Young People qualification.

Currently, Danielle works for Yorkshire Dance Centre delivering outreach and community projects, and is now leading the new Yorkshire Dance Youth Company. Prior to her employment with Yorkshire Dance, Danielle has worked extensively as a freelance dance artist delivering sessions and workshops for various organisations.

As a member of Element Dance Company, Danielle has gained a significant amount of training and performance experience in Latin dance genres; Brazilian Samba, Reggaeton and Salsa. She also specialises in Street Dance/Hip Hop and Contemporary. Danielle is especially passionate about African and Caribbean dance and so continually pursues training in these genres.

Danielle is focussed on exploring different avenues in order to develop her own creative vision. Gaining further experiences in choreography and performance are now imperative to Danielle’s development as an artist. Danielle is available for work and is interested in networking and collaborating with other artists.
