Arts Council EnglandYorkshire Dance is delighted to announce that its application to the National Portfolio Funding programme has been successful. The Arts Council has offered us the following levels of funding:

2012-2013: £323,600

2013-2014: £331,366

2014-2015: £339,982

This is a conditional offer, subject to a funding agreement between ACE and Yorkshire Dance.

We are very pleased to receive this offer, and very grateful to Arts Council England for this recognition of the value of our work across Yorkshire.

Our funding for the next four years will enable us to develop our home in Leeds for dance artists from around the region, the UK and overseas – a place where new dance works can be created for audiences in Yorkshire and around the country. We will work with artists, youth leaders and community practitioners across the region to develop their skills, practice and careers.

It will also allow us to give young people all over the Yorkshire region fantastic opportunities to take part in dance.

Although dance has done well nationally, we want to extend our support to those organisations that have not been successful and are facing even more challenging times, especially those with whom we have had excellent, close partnerships over the years.

We will, with the continued support of Arts Council England, work hard to make a positive, vital contribution to the dance ecology of the UK, ensuring that the range and diversity of high quality dance can continue to thrive and inspire people and communities in Yorkshire.
