Open Mic Night (c) Yorkshire Dance

Open Mic Night

by aprilskipp on June 2, 2016

Last Friday 27 May, Yorkshire Dance successfully held its first Spirit of Juncture event, the Open Mic Night. Hosted by Leeds Brewery at The Midnight Bell, the evening featured live music performances from singer/songwriters Aimee Cross, Emma Hooker, and Adam Westley, as well as an audience participatory dance piece from Snakebox (Akeim Buck and Otis Jones).

On top of the live performances, the evening also featured a fun quiz as well as karaoke between the programmed sets, ensuring the fun didn’t stop all evening. Special mention should go to winners of the quiz, Team Redhead, who we hope enjoy their dinner for 2 at the Midnight Bell, and karaoke duo Drunk and Stupid (self-titled), whose rendition of Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid at the end of the evening  stole the show.

Yorkshire Dance would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the evening: we raised a total of £135, bringing us one stop closer to reaching our Juncture fundraising target!

Details of our next fundraiser, 24 Hour Dance Relay, have now been released – so please do get involved, the team are going to need all the support they can get to keep those feet dancing all night long!

There are so many ways you can support the Spirit of Juncture Campaign and help us reach our target of £1,500.

Donate online via our Local Giving page to pay with credit/debit card or to set up regular giving.
