Yorkshire Dance Street Crew, Breeze 2015 (c) Jemma BroomheadLast year, Yorkshire Dance’s Street Crew of 11-14 year olds came together with young musicians from DJ school and First Floor to create a brand new performance piece with live music, DJing and vocals.

This piece was then performed as part of the Breeze Festival in July on Millennium Square, Leeds City centre, to an audience of over 100.

Following the success of Project Pulse in the Summer of 2015, DJ School have been successful in gaining funding from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation to carry out a yearlong version of Project Pulse – a collaborative project for DJs, street dancers and MCs.

The group of young people have been working really hard collaborating together on a brand new performance piece.

This was performed at the Yorkshire Dance Youth Sharing on the 9 December to an audience of over 80 and from this performance the group applied to take part in Fresh- the regional Youth Dance Platform as part of U.Dance.

They have been successful in this application and will be performing at Fresh on Saturday 26 March at CAST in Doncaster along with over 20 other youth dance groups.
