University of Leeds in collaboration with Yorkshire Dance and Breakfast Creatives is recruiting research participants.
respond_, launched in March 2014, is a new digital space where audiences can have their say as two dance artists make two new pieces of work between now and the world premiere in December 2014. It’s based on an adaptation of Liz Lerman’s renowned Critical Response Process, and is a joint project by Yorkshire Dance, University of Leeds and Breakfast Creatives, funded by Nesta, the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Arts Council England.
We are looking for around 40 people to join a Research Group to share their experience of respond_ with researchers from the University of Leeds. We need people who are either:
• Frequent attenders of or artists/experts in contemporary dance
• Infrequent attenders of contemporary dance (under 4 times per year)
• Non-attenders of contemporary dance (but maybe audiences of other art forms)
During the weeks of 19-26 Sep and 14-21 Nov 2014, you will interact directly with the artists and share your feedback as they show you works-in-progress, explore your reactions to artistic ideas and exchange your ideas with others in the Closed Research Group. You will receive a payment of £20.00 and a free ticket to the world premiere performance at Yorkshire Dance on Friday 5th December 2014.
You can find all the details you need here www.respondto.org/be-involved/ Please note, you need to live in Leeds, or within an easily commutable distance, and be available to attend the launch/induction on Wednesday 17th September from 5.30-7pm)
