Vincent Dance Theatre at Yorkshire Dance

Yorkshire Dance are pleased to announce the return of Vincent Dance Theatre to the region. 21 Years / 21 Works is a series of events which offers an opportunity to delve in, and investigate the company’s history of work from 1994 to 2015. 21 Years / 21 Works specifically looks at Artistic Director and Choreographer Charlotte Vincent’s film and production work for the company, exploring the politics and personal experiences that have shaped and driven Vincent’s work over these two decades.

On Friday 27 March, will be Archive & Engagement Space, Thinking Backwards and Look At Me Now, Mummy.

In addition to a programme of interaction and engagement through an installation, a performance and a talk, there is also the opportunity for performers, makers and choreographers to take part in a Choreographic Residency with Charlotte Vincent. This 5 day residency will offer you an opportunity to explore Vincent’s approach to making work, devise and scrutinise new ideas and test out these ideas in front of an invited audience.

Vincent is an experienced maker, mentor, director and dramaturg and her skills lie in the development and distillation of ideas, clarifying structures and compositions and in identifying the emotional, intellectual and physical core of what a performer is trying to ‘say’ .This residency process aims to generate new material individual to each participant that may become an authentic starting point for the development of new work.

We think this opportunity will be relevant for experienced choreographers and makers as well as those who may be just starting out in their careers.

This residency will take place from Monday 20-Friday 24 July 2015 and is £80Places are limited, if you are interested please register your interest with kirstyredhead@yorkshiredance.com
