Paul Lidgard
I am a 42 year old male who has Autism. I function very well in society and live in my own accommodation, on my own.
I have a great interest in keep fit and exercise especially dance.
I attend contemporary dance classes every week but also study the various other aspects of the subject. I have appeared in 4 shows with Yorkshire Dance generally as the culmination of a terms work.
I would like to progress my learning in dance and eventually pass on my experience through teaching. Recently, I have been a dance assistant with the organisation Purple Patch. I found this role very rewarding and the perfect way to start my training to be a dance/aerobic teacher.
My keep fit experience also includes running, cycling and swimming. I have competed in many running events from half marathons through to 5k races collecting many medals and mementoes for my efforts.
At the present time I am attending a series of ice skating courses which have been going very well with my grades being continually upgraded. This experience is also giving me another aspect to my dancing experience.
I would like to be a dance/fitness instructor and feel that the commitment I am showing shows that I could be a success in that field and would like to be considered for training courses which could lead to that.
