Workshops
We have decided not to run a full programme of one-off workshops for the time being, though we’ve got some very exciting ones coming up as part of Juncture. Keep checking our Professional Classes page or sign up to our Mailing List to receive all the latest information. You can also out the Improvisation Exchange blog here.
The Dance Network
The Dance Network was setup in 2007 following a consultation between Yorkshire Dance and dance professionals in the region. The aim was to establish a group who could support one another in work and career whilst also contributing to the development of activities and services Yorkshire Dance offer professionals. Almost 3 years down the line, Yorkshire Dance still meet bi-monthly with the network. The network is open so people can join as they wish by contacting Lauren Houghton, Projects & Programmes Co-ordinator, on laurenhoughton@yorkshiredance.com
The meetings take on many different forms, sometimes providing a safe place for artists to share project plans and other times leading on training for topics such as networking, coaching, reflective practice and funding applications amongst others.
Choreographic Platform
Established in 1996, the Choreographic Platform is part of Yorkshire Dance’s professional development programme for regional artists. An important part of the platform is feedback and if chosen to take part, you will receive feedback from arts professionals in a structured and safe environment.
In November 2010, Yorkshire Dance presented Live Bites, a choreographic platform showcasing some of the latest developments in small scale contemporary dance with artists from Yorkshire, Scotland and the North East.
Professional Development Opportunities
Yorkshire Dance works to provide a range of ways in which professional dance artists can develop their career skills, both inside and outside the studio.
