Amplified is a two-year development programme committed to presenting work in new contexts and creating a dialogue between audience and artist in Yorkshire and the North.
Over the past year Amplified has supported Yorkshire based artists to explore the potential of projects as well as creating opportunities to test the work in conversation with programmers and audiences. This includes work for venues and new dance spaces, as well as work for festivals and community settings.
“We are committed to engaging with new audiences in new ways through producing and delivering contemporary practice of high quality.” Natalie, Project Producer of Amplified
In year two we plan to continue to support the creation and production of artistic work while working closely with dance spaces across the north of England to develop audiences for contemporary dance.
Over the next 12 months we will work closely with festivals, programmers and freelance producers in order to produce contemporary dance work of high quality.
Amplified would like to welcome onboard the following people in moving the project forward:
Helen Meller (Hebden Bridge Arts Festival),
Ian Morley (The Civic, Barnsley),
Rosie Cross (Highlights Rural Touring, Cumbria)
Adam Young (Live Art Bistro)
Iain Bloomfield (Bradford Theatre in the Mill)
Detailed information about the artists we support can be found here.
