CHOREOGRAPHIC COMMISSION

Eden Court CREATIVE is seeking to commission a choreographer for a Highland-wide community dance project, ‘Hit Squad’.

This innovative project aims to create links within communities and bring dance performances into unorthodox venues. The commission is to create an accessible, adaptable and potentially interactive piece of choreography which can be learnt by one community group to be performed to another e.g. a primary school group performing to elderly members of the community in a care home.

You must be available from 22-24 August 2012. The fee for this project is £1,000 all inclusive.

Deadline for submissions: Friday 29 June, 12:00 noon.

‘Hit Squad’ is part of the Scottish Government and Creative Scotland’s ‘Get Scotland Dancing’ and aims to bring dance to people living in rural areas of the Highlands who find it difficult to access regular weekly classes or public events.

2 dancers/performers for contemporary dance theatre piece. (one male, one female)

Tell Tale Hearts children’s theatre company are seeking 2 exceptional dance artists (1 male/1 female) for their forthcoming production entitled Yummm!, a three person show about eating, food, the rituals surrounding it and importantly the fun we can have with it on stage.

We require versatile dancers with a minimum of 2-3 years professional experience and previous touring experience.

The show will involve some audience participation and some vocal work/speech/play.  An interest and willingness to work with young children is essential although it is not necessary to have performed in children’s work previously.

The show will be produced in September and would also include a 3 day Research & development period at the beginning of July. The contract would be from 10th Sept – 4th Nov. 2012.  Pay £420/wk + per diems for touring period.  Rehearsals would take place in Leeds in September and the show tours nationally from 30th Sept – 4th Nov 2012.
