Everyone’s invited to a massive day of dance performances, workshops and surprises to celebrate the culmination in Yorkshire of Big Dance 2012.
Big Dance 2012 is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of dance. Between 18 May and 15 July thousands of events inspired by dance are taking place across the UK. They are taking place in all sorts of locations and in all dance styles which will all be open to absolutely anyone. Big Dance is about people dancing – everyone, everywhere.
Come and join us for Big Dance – Celebration and get a taste of the exciting, fun and wonderful dance activity that has taken place across Yorkshire as part of Big Dance 2012.
Your celebrity comperes include Rich Williams (Radio Aire) and performance poet Testament, with some surprises to be announced!

We’d like YOU to be part of it all, too! Visit bigdanceyorkshire.com and upload film-clips or photos of you, your friends, your family – anyone, really – dancing.
It only takes a moment, and we’ll be broadcasting clips and photos from the site on the BBC Big Screen during Big Dance – Celebration. You could be seen by thousands! It doesn’t have to be amazing quality – film yourself dancing in your own kitchen on a camera-phone, or upload footage of yourself in a professional dance performance. Basically, if you dance anywhere in Yorkshire, we want YOU! Serious dance, silly dance, it’s all good!
And you should definitely learn The Yorkshire Flock, a new dance routine created for us by choreographer Gary Clarke with Jordan Massarella. It’s fun and really easy to learn, and we hope that thousands of people will rehearse it together at 3.00pm and perform it at 4.30pm. Be among them! Learn the routine now, here…
